Great day at Alliance even if the additional 4 Harriers didn’t make it in! Spent the early morning out catching a few shots of the AV8’s with the Sunrise glow on them. Then spent some of the afternoon out with Phil and Dave snapping a few more over the fence with the help of Phil’s ladder! About 3:15 a DC9 arrived, refueled, and departed. While I stepped away a KC135 came in from California. To top off a great day already, Dave and I were fortunate enough to get fairly up close and personal with the Harriers as they taxied out and all three took off at the same time- staggered in at Alpha, Charlie and Delta on 34R. Awesome experience with these guys and we thanked them many times for stopping in. Enjoy the pics and remember, a 3:30 departure on 34R forces you to shoot into the sun…so again excuse the image quality.
And then of course a shot of the SPAD F-16’s looking lonely…
heh steve .. great shots and a great Sat indeeed… in fact I was chatting with Sebby when that KC135 came in to land.. totally miss the radio chatter from the tower… would have been awesome shot from the south end for those base to final landing on 35.
