Vought F-8 Crusader Walkaround

NAS Pensacola National Aviation Museum houses a few F-8 of different variants including the fighter and Recon bird.

The Recon bird RF-8G belongs to VFP-62 nickname “fighting photos” . VFP-62 is best known as the squadron that took the first low-level photos of the Soviet missile bases in Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis in October 1962. The other F-8A wears the VF-24 ” Fighting Renegades “markings from USS Hancock.
