F-106 Delta Dart Walkaround

The Convair F-106 Delta Dart was the primary all-weather interceptor aircraft of the United States Air Force from the 1960s through the 1980s. This example is now preserved in Sacramento Air Museum CA.  She wears the 5th Fighter Interceptor Squadron base in Minot AFB later move to Vance AFB OK and became the current 5th Flying Training Squadron. In late 1962 the 5th FIS acquired two live lynx kittens (“Spitten” and “Kitten”) as mascots. That gives this squadron the nickname spitten kitten.
