Flying Heritage and Combat Armor Museum

This is one of the unique Aviation and Military musuem when you visit Seatle area. Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum is located on the opposite side of Boeing’s Paine Field. Emcompassing this musuem is Military aircraft from World war 2, Cold war, to modern Jet fighters. There is also an assortment of Tanks and Armor Fighting vehicles of different era on display. All equipment are restored to its glory days.

Hanger A Exhibits

This Hanger houses mostly World War 2 era Fighter and bombers. Some of them are still in the refurbishing time frame and also WW2 and Cold war era tanks , Artillery pieces and Missile launchers.

Hanger B Exhibits

The Highlight of this hanger comes from this Vietnam era F-105 Thunderchief. However this is post Vietnam with the 2 seater F-105G Wild Weasel which is task to take out enemy Surface to Air Missiles.

Russian MIG-29UB

This Hall house a fully restored MIG-29UB in flying condition.

WW2 Fighters Exhibits the P-47D thunderbolt , Supermarine Spitfire,Short nose FW-190A, P-51D Mustang and the Dehavilland Mosquito

Other Exhibits in this Hall.. This included the Vietnam era Bell UH-1B gunship, Mule with M40A1 106mm recoiless Rifle and M-48A3 Patton Tank

Hanger C Exhibits

This Big hanger houses more WW2 era Fighters and Armor and Artillery pieces. This hall have some nice US Navy WW2 fighters includes the Grumman F-6 Hellcat, Vought F-4U Corsair, German WW2 Storch and Messerschmitt ME-109E

One unique Exhibit was a Jinkers JU-87 Stuka Dive bomver that the musuem aquire and is being restored. I was told that this is JU-87 will be restored to the glory days of the Africa Corp aircraft.

Other Exhibits include the fully restored M8 armor recon car, M-60A1 Patton , M26 Pershing, M7 Preist SP gun, M5 Stuart ,Churchill, M24 Chaffee, M2 Halftracks Tanks and Armor. Also included are the super rare German 8.8 cm Flak 18 (Sfl.) auf Zugkraftwagen 12t (Sd.Kfz. 8) and the BMW R75 German scout Motorcycle .

Overall this is a fantastic Military musuem that houses very unique aircrafts and military hardware. Namely the very rare long nose FW-190D is fully restored in her original glory days. Getting to see a Japanese KI-43 OScar and a Zero A6M3 in the same roof is quite rare. Not to say all the military hardware. If you ever come to visit Seattle area dont miss this gem of a Musuem.
