NAS Fallon , located about 25 min away from REno , NV house the US Navy important training assets which include NAWDC (Naval Air Warfighting Development Center), the Naval Strike Warfare Center (Strike U), Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) and Carrier Airborne Early Weapons School (TOPDOME) are combined under one command. NAS Fallon serves as the Navy’s premier tactical air warfare training center.
Current Air Assets for NAWDC include a mixtures of Boeing F/A-18 Legacy Hornet, F/A-18E/F Superhornet, E/A-18G Growler, Lockheed MArtin F-16A/B, E-2 and SH-60F rescue Helicopter. Here are some of the Hotramp shots in the base.
Hornets and Superhornets
We are seeing more Early block Superhornets flying and replacing the older Legacy F/A-18 A and C.
These are ex- Pakistani Airforce early block F-16 A/B As much flying NAWDC is doing on these jets, do not know when the airframe will be timed out.
E-2C and SH-60F
NAS Fallon also houses the Naval Reserve Adversary Squadron VFC-13 “Saints” flying the Northrop F-5n Tiger II fighter. Adversary jets usually painted in very colorful and unique camouflage that is always of interest to the Aviation enthusiasts.
NAS Fallon host many visiting Navy and other assets for training and the base is large enough to host an entire Carrier Airwing. Here are some examples of Different visitors from different Carrier Airwing and Adversary Squadrons.
